Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) has announced an increase in investment in the United States. He said that Saudi investment in the United States will be increased from $600 billion to about $1 trillion or 1 trillion dollars. The Anadolu news agency confirmed the matter in a report on Wednesday (November 19). “I think today or tomorrow we will be able to announce that the investment figure will be increased from $600 billion to about $1 trillion,” MBS told reporters after meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington on Tuesday. He also said that many big agreements are going to be signed between the two countries in various sectors including technology and artificial intelligence (AI), which will create huge investment opportunities. At that time, Trump expressed surprise and said, “So 600 billion will now be 1 trillion?” In response, MBS said, “Absolutely — today’s agreements will facilitate this growth.” Trump thanked the Saudi crown prince and said, “You have agreed to invest 600 billion dollars in the United States, which is great. And since he is my friend, it could be 1 trillion — although I have to work on that a little bit more.” Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, called the meeting “an important day for Saudi-US relations.” She said the two countries signed several major bilateral agreements that will contribute to job creation and regional security.
